Temple Emanu-El will present a communications workshop, “Listening to Be Heard,” on Sunday, Oct. 3, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Participants will learn to focus on how they communicate rather than what they communicate. Presenters are Connie J. A. Beck, Ph.D., an associate professor in the psychology, policy and law program at the University of Arizona, a licensed clinical psychologist, and chair of the University of Arizona psychology department ethics committee; and Frances Bernfeld, M.Ed., a licensed marriage and family therapist who has worked since 1981 as a therapist and mediator at the Family Center of the Conciliation Court of Pima County. She also maintains a private practice in Tucson.
The cost of workshop, including a light brunch, is $10. RSVP to Dana Adler at danaa@me.com or 241-4381. Proceeds will benefit the Temple Emanu-El Religious School Teacher Continuing Education Fund.Communications theme of Temple workshop
