She has been a member of the Volunteer Clearinghouse and the Mature Worker Connection in Green Valley; served as executive director of Green Valley Community Coordinating Council, where she helped launch “Walk Across Arizona,” a social/exercise initiative; and is immediate past president of the Rotary Club of Green Valley, where she started programs including “Coats for Kids” and “Food for Thought,” book donations for the local food bank. She served on the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona’s Task Force on Services for Jewish Seniors and Persons with Disabilities.</p>

Also named is TIM BOWEN of Creative Slice, who designed the AJP’s website, azjewishpost.com. The winners will be honored at an awards breakfast Oct. 6 at the Doubletree Hotel.</p>
<p>REP. GABRIELLE GIFFORDS will receive the 2011 National ATHENA Award, which honors a woman leader who demonstrates professional excellence, gives back to her community and assists other women in realizing their full leadership potential. It will be presented at the annual ATHENA Awards luncheon, which will be hosted by the Arizona Small Business Association on Sept. 22 at the Westin La Paloma Resort.</p>
