Gerald Sherman

obit_shermanGerald Marshall Sherman, 90, died July 3, 2016.

Born in Chicago, the youngest of three children of Russian immigrants, Mr. Sherman was a decorated World War II veteran. His awards include the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart and the French Legion of Honor Medal. Mr. Sherman was an active member in the Jewish community and contributor to many charitable organizations. He and his wife moved to Tucson from the Chicago area in the 1980s.

Mr. Sherman was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Reva. Survivors include his children, Harriet (partner, Ernie Dunn) Moser of Phoenix, Ira (Nancy) Sherman of Denver, Hess (Sharon) Sherman of Chicago, Annette (Bob) Landry of Albuquerque, N.M., and Neal Sherman of Los Angeles; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Illinois.
