Leon Kreida

Leon M. Kreida, 84, of Oro Valley, died Aug. 2, 2015.

Born in Worcester, Mass., Mr. Kreida earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Arizona. He served in the Marines during the Korean War and was in the Army Reserves. He was an insurance salesman and financial planner. Mr. Kreida volunteered with the Oro Valley Police Department, Southern Arizona Arts & Culture Alliance, Disabled American Veterans Service Offices and the Organ Donor Volunteer Program. He also served as a judge for the UA Eller College of Management case competitions.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Y. Kreida; children, Alan (Kathy) Kreida of Long Beach, Calif., and Karen (Marvin) Shearer of Chats­worth, Calif.; sister, Rochelle, of Henderson, Nev.; and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Evergreen Mortuary with Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon of Temple Emanu-El officiating. Interment followed in Congregation Anshei Israel section.
