Tot alan miklofskyhe National Shoe Retailers Association honored ALAN MIKLOFSKY, president of ALAN’S SHOES/ NEW BALANCE TUCSON, as the 2015 Retailer of the Year at its annual leadership conference in Charlotte, N.C., last month. Alan and Annette Miklofsky have been operating stores in the Tucson area since 1982 and currently have five stores. With the addition of sons David and Michael to the business, the family has an eight-generation history in manufacturing and retailing footwear. Miklofsky has served on the board of directors of the NSRA since 1993 and served as chairman for two years between 2009 and 2011. During that time the association, founded in 1912, moved its national headquarters to Tucson.

PEPPER VINER HOMES is working with Tucson Unified School District to repurpose the grounds of the former Wrightstown Elementary School. Pepper Viner is the first local homebuilder to turn an empty school into a new home community. The eastside community, which will be called The Schoolyard, will include 56 one and two-story homes with five different floor plans.
