Brandeis used book sale to raise scholarship funds

The Tucson chapter of the Brandeis National Committee will hold its annual used book sale Feb. 13-22 at the Foothills Mall.

Admission is free except for a special preview to be held Thursday, Feb. 12, from 5-9 p.m., which requires a $10 tax-deductible donation to the BNC.

Proceeds of the sale endow a scholarship for a Tucson area student to Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.

The most recent scholarship recipient is Paulina Kuzman, a sophomore majoring in neuroscience, with minors in chemistry and health: science, society and policy. Kuzman, who says she chose to attend Brandeis because she loved “that Brandeis stands for social justice and change,” has been a volunteer mentor/tutor in Brandeis’ afternoon enrichment program for middle school students.

Special sale days include half-price day on Saturday, Feb. 21, and fill a bag for $10 day on Sunday, Feb. 22 (two bags for $10 after 3 p.m.). Mall hours are 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-6 p.m on Sundays.
