Part memoir, part stand-up routine, “25 Questions for a Jewish Mother” will feature two segments by local residents when it comes to Tucson this month.

Comedienne Judy Gold and playwright Kate Moira Ryan weave actual interviews with Jewish mothers across the United States with memories from Gold’s childhood and her own experiences as a Jewish mother to create a performance piece that explores it all: from rugelach to rabbis, matzah to marriage, Ann Landers to Anne Frank, and guilt to G-d.

Arizona Onstage Productions will present the play at the Temple of Music and Art Cabaret Theatre for three weekends beginning with a preview performance on Friday, May 9. The final performance on Sunday, May 25 at 3 p.m., will be a benefit for Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging, with all tickets $30. The benefit performance will include additional monologues that Tucson residents submitted to an Arizona Onstage Productions contest.

The cast includes Bebe Fischer, Catheryne Goldman-Morgan, Hilary Lyons, Billie Maas and Ina Shivack.
