Shalom Tucson to spotlight film festival

Shalom Tucson will host a free bagel brunch for newcomers and anyone interested in the Tucson Jewish community on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. Representatives from synagogues, agencies and organizations will provide “one stop shopping for our warm and vibrant Jewish community,” says Anne Lowe, outreach director for the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona.

Lynn Davis, JCC director of arts and culture, will speak about the Tucson International Jewish Film Festival, which kicks off on the afternoon of Jan. 12 with a film in Saddlebrooke. Opening night at the JCC will be Jan. 16. The grand opening will be held Jan. 18 at the Loft Cinema and the festival will run through Jan. 25 at the JCC.

Shalom Tucson is sponsored by JFSA’s Outreach Connections and the JCC. Walk-ins are always welcome; RSVPs may be made to Lowe at 577-9393, ext. 130 or alowe@jfsa.org.
